Democrats Want To Know About Reducing Our Carbon Footprint In Afghanistan

From ROK Drop:

General Petraeus Questioned By Democratic Congresswoman On Reducing Carbon Footprint in Afghanistan

» by GI Korea in: Afghanistan

With this year likely to be the bloodiest yet in Afghanistan and the US war effort on shaky ground and Democratic Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is wondering what General David Petraeus is doing to reduce the US military’s carbon footprint in Afghanistan:

Does she have any idea how much fuel it takes to power MRAP’s, HMMWV’s, and other heavy military equipment? Does she think HMMWV’s can be powered with solar panels? Solar panels can only provide power for things like street lights on the military bases and is not a practical power source to power military war effort. General Petraeus’ answer was quite diplomatic, but I wonder what he really thinks about people like this? Maybe Michael Hastings can find out for us?
