Militant Group Claims Credit for Suicide Attack on Japanese Oil Tanker

The “Brigade of Yusuf al‐Ayyiri”, affiliated with the “Abdullah Azzam Brigades”, has released a statement claiming credit for the bombing attack on a Japanese oil tanker in the Persian Gulf. Recovered by analysts from Flashpoint Global Partners, the statement was accompanied by a photo of the apparent suicide bomber responsible for the attack.

“The Martyred Hero Ayyub al‐Teishan, may Allah accept him among the martyrs Praise be to Allah supporter of the believers, degrader of the disbelievers; He who promised us victory and control, and made them [attained] in Jihad against the disbelievers, and prayer and peace upon the master of the messengers and Imam of the mujahideen, and upon all his family and companions, and thereafter:
In the midst of a blessed cycle in the chain of our Jihad in the cause of Allah, [which aims] to weaken the international infidel system that oppresses the Muslim homelands, that steals our wealth; and, in order to remove injustice from the backs of the Muslims, and to restore what they have stolen from our right to worship Allah alone and govern by his Shariah law, and our rights over the wealth that Allah has deposited in our lands—which has been stolen by the tyrants of the international infidels and their followers who occupy our countries—a group of your mujahideen brothers from the Brigade of Yusuf al‐Ayyiri, from the Brigades of the Martyr Abdullah Azzam, launched a victorious assault on an important economic lifeline for the international infidel system—and it succeeded in the aim in which it was intended, with the grace of Allah.”
“After midnight last Wednesday night, the martyred hero Ayyub al‐ Teishan—may Allah accept him— exploded himself targeting a Japanese oil transporter (M‐Star) in the Strait of Hormuz between the [United Arab] Emirates and Oman, and causing damages that were reported by international news agencies. the international economy and the price of oil, the enemies of Allah have attempted to hide the truth about this operation—some of them blamed it on an earthquake. They were correct, as our martyr shook them by successfully reaching this critical target; proving to the international infidels again that Allah’s allies from among the mujahideen can have the tightest closed doors open before them with the assistance and help of Allah. No security system or intelligence project will be able to stand in the face of what they seek.”
“And this attempt at secrecy by the enemies of Allah was not surprising, as a mujahideen attack on a tanker such as this represents an immense failure for the international infidel system. This [tanker] is one of the best and biggest such transporters, and it was carrying no less than two million barrels of oil. Also, this blessed attack took place in one of the most important regions for water transportation in the world. The Strait of Hormuz is a primary economic vein for the international infidel system, and the area near the strait is filled with the fleets of our enemy’s navy—and how difficult it would be to infiltrate this besieged area if Allah wasn’t with the mujahideen [verse]. And if the enemies of Allah had admitted that the earthquake that struck their tanker was actually the earthquake of our intended martyr, oil prices would have been impacted, and the whole world would have discovered the failure of their security systems, which the disbelievers use as a shield against the attacks of the mujahideen.”
“But we are pleased to give the good news to our oppressed Muslim brothers that they have brothers who will not enjoy any rest until they have cut off the head of international disbelief, Allah willing, so they may feel the approach of victory, and to launch their arrows along with their brothers—as this is a path with great rewards that has opened for the Muslims.”
“We delayed publishing this statement until our heroes returned safely to their bases, praise and grace to Allah. And this battle is named after the imprisoned Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman to remind the Ummah of someone who came from among them… and had a great grace in igniting the wick of Jihad in the Ummah. It is inevitable that his imprisonment will end soon, Allah willing. And we say to our Muslim Ummah and across the entire world to those who were enslaved by the contemporary international system, [we will] remove injustice from upon you… until the Muslim and the disbelievers are governed with justice, and until each of you takes his complete duty in whole; just as Allah implied in Sharia. And we promise Allah to be steadfast on the path.”
